It is with great sadness we announce the passing of our founder and Chairman Mr Frederick Lane. Fred Lane was a key figure and inspirational leader within the Electronics Distribution Industry for nearly 60 years. He will be greatly missed by the directors and all staff at FC Lane Electronics, Lane Motorsport and Weald Electronics, the group of companies he led. We all extend our deepest sympathy to his wife and family at this sad time. 

Despite the promise of approved vaccines being rolled out, Lockdown 3 may once again challenge supply chains but we wanted to let you know that, as a specialist connector distributor, we are ready and capable to support our customers who need standard and custom connector solutions.

In order to offer our designers and buyers with an almost-normal service during the COVID-19 pandemic we have remodelled much of our technical and sales support and assembly operations.

Weald Electronics, leading UK manufacturer of circular connectors and accessories for military, aerospace and industrial applications, have announced a new family of circular backshells and adapters for MIL-DTL-26482 Series 1 and MIL-DTL-38999/D38999 Series III and IV connector systems.

At this year’s Defence & Security Equipment International Event (DSEI), we will once more demonstrate that we are the market leaders in the supply of electrical, electronic and optical connector systems for the demanding defence and security sector. The event will be taking place at ExCel London on 10th-13th September, and you will be able to find us at Stand S3-337.

We have now made available Edgecard printed circuit board (PCB) connectors manufactured by our sister lodge Group company Weald Electronics. These are 0.100in (2.54mm) pitch board to board edge connectors which can be supplied cut to any required length on very short leadtimes.

We now have available the Weald Electronics LMH series of bayonet coupling circular connectors with PCB contacts to allow these robust connectors to be mounted directly to printed circuit boards or flexi circuits.

We are proud that Leonardo has approved so many of our connectors and connector accessories for use across its production sites in the United Kingdom.

We are happy to announce a new range of protective caps designed for high performance circular connectors that meet the requirements of MIL-DTL-38999 and MIL-DTL-26482.

We have made available a range of mains power circular connectors manufactured in the UK by Weald Electronics. The LMV range is produced to IEQC-CECC spec BS/CECC 75201-004 which includes the safety requirements of BS EN 60950 for safe use in mains applications and CE marked assemblies including the on-board charging of electric vehicles.

A first in class, a second in class and two top ten finishes overall represents a fantastic start to the 2016 season by our sponsored Thundersport 600 Sportsman competitor Sam Osborne. 24-year-old Sam, who rides for the leading tuning and racing team MSG Racing, modestly described the first race weekend of the season at Brands Hatch as a “testing weekend with extreme conditions... but I am very happy to get my first win of the season and put some points on the board”.
