Lane Electronics – Making it Easy to Connect in These Testing Times
We have remodelled much of our technical and sales support and assembly operations to provide both designers and buyers with an almost normal service during the COVID-19 pandemic.
According to our Sales Director Nick Wheeler, the changes mean we can continue to support customers during the present market uncertainty and possible supply chain fragility, as well as making us even more accessible for our customers who are having to accommodate changes to the way they work. This is due to a large stockholding, the enhanced availability of specialist technical and sales support, a well-stocked online store and on-site assembly, manufacturing and test.
Multi-million-pound product inventory
Since we emerged as an interconnection specialist more than 50 years ago, we have maintained a policy of holding substantial inventory levels of standard connectors and connector piece parts from every company we represent. This has allowed us to normally respond by return to orders for standard items. Despite the current crisis, we are still able to rapidly fulfil orders with no minimum order quantities or order value. For many of our customers we are still providing dedicated stock and flexible delivery dates for both scheduled and spot orders.
Our multi-lingual technical and sales support teams are working remotely to help customers select the right connectors and accessories for their application. These are dedicated connector experts who provide no-obligation technical advice on product selection for both standard and custom solutions. They are readily contactable via the usual methods including video calls.
For many designers and buyers, their first contact with a potential supplier is via its website and, here, we have a well-structured platform with easy-to-use product selection by product types and market sector as well as manufacturer and specification references. Our website also allows visitors to download the latest editions of a comprehensive array of product catalogues as well as the ability to request 3D CAD models in many popular formats, including STEP, IGES and SAT.
For more direct assistance, we have specialists available live and online from our website to provide technical, applications and commercial assistance at the simple click of a button.
Importantly, we have also increased the number of connectors and accessories which can be readily specified and purchased through the company’s online store.
Lane Electronics is part of the Lodge Group which also includes the high-performance connector and connector accessory manufacturer Weald Electronics. This means that, between the two companies, there is significant assembly and manufacturing capacity on-site. This allows us to offer a seven-day build to order VAD for Souriau and Weald products as well as the ability to customise standard products for specialist applications across many market sectors including medical, motorsport, security, aerospace and defence. In addition to this we provide fast turnaround assembly of RF cable assemblies and fibre-optic cable assemblies from our in-house specialist manufacture and test facilities.
