Our sister comany, Weald Electronics Ltd has reached a significant milestone, marking 50 years of UK connector manufacturing since its establishment on 27 April 1976. A quick timeline: how the range evolved

• 1976: Weald Electronics Ltd. is incorporated following the acquisition of tooling, stock and manufacturing rights for the Plessey MK.4 range—ensuring continuity of supply for customers facing obsolescence (later renamed the Weald LMF series).
• 1981: A second acquisition expands the portfolio with the Plessey MK7 range, introduced as the Weald LMG series.
• Subsequent years: Further acquisitions from Pye Connectors broaden the offering with established series including D2, BA, SM/SMA and SMC connectors.
• 1987: Weald begins in-house design and manufacture of circular connectors, introducing the LMV series for mains voltage applications and a solder version of the widely used Patt.105 / MIL-DTL-26482 Series 1 interface (LMH series) - supported by a full range of accessories including backshells (LMA series) and protective caps (LMD series).

Expanding into rectangular and PCB interconnect

Weald Electronics has continued to expand its range of high-performance rectangular and PCB connector solutions, maintaining its strategy of acquiring tooling and manufacturing rights to ensure long-term product availability.

Key product developments include the 801/801CX series (aligned with MIL-DTL-55302 and BS9525 N0001), a high-density 3-row 2mm pitch PCB connector, the M300 series, the versatile LM200 series, and the robust blind-mate rack-and-panel LMR series.

• High-quality EMC and strain-relief backshells compatible with MIL-DTL-26482 Series 1 and D38999 Series III interfaces, available in a wide range of materials and finishes.
