Despite the promise of approved vaccines being rolled out, Lockdown 3 may once again challenge supply chains but we wanted to let you know that, as a specialist connector distributor, we are ready and capable to support our customers who need standard and custom connector solutions.
Our Sales Director Nick Wheeler states that our customers still have instant access to our large stockholding, a well-stocked online store and, as part of the Lodge Group, on-site assembly, manufacturing and testing. Furthermore, in recognition of the challenges that continued remote working can introduce, we can now offer enhanced availability of online specialist technical and sales support to provide both designers and buyers with a near-normal service in these far from normal times.
Multi-million-pound product inventory
When we became established as an interconnection specialist more than 50 years ago, our founder took the decision to build and maintain substantial inventory levels of standard connectors and connector piece parts from every company that we represented. That policy, virtually unique at the time, has allowed us to generally respond by return to orders for standard items. Despite the latest lockdown, the company is still able to rapidly fulfil orders with no minimum order quantities or order value. And, for many of its customers, we are still providing dedicated stock and flexible delivery dates for both scheduled and spot orders.
In accordance with Government guidelines, our multi-lingual technical and sales support teams are working remotely to help customers select the right connectors and accessories for their application. These are dedicated connector experts who provide no-obligation technical advice on product selection for both standard and custom solutions. They are readily contactable via the usual methods including the now familiar video calls in a wide number of formats.
For many designers and buyers, their first contact with a potential supplier is via its website and, here, we have developed a well-structured platform with easy-to-use product selection by product types and market sector as well as manufacturer and specification references. Our website allows visitors to download the latest editions of a comprehensive array of product catalogues as well as the ability to request 3D models.

Importantly, we have also increased the number of connectors and accessories which can be readily specified and purchased through our online store and have introduced further Cross Reference information which allows you to simply match a connector or connector accessory form a wide variety of manufacturers to those offered by the many companies we represent.
We are part of the Lodge Group which also includes the high-performance connector and connector accessory manufacturer Weald Electronics. This means that, between the two companies, there is significant assembly and manufacturing capacity on-site. This allows us to offer a seven-day build to order VAD for Souriau and Weald products as well as the ability to customise standard products for specialist applications across many market sectors including medical, motorsport, security, aerospace and defence. In addition to this we provide fast turnaround assembly of RF cable assemblies and Fibre-Optic cable assemblies from our in-house specialist manufacture and test facilities.
