Extra Versatility and Availability Added to Souriau 8D / 38999 Series III Connectors

We assemble MIL-DTL-38999 Series III connectors and their commercial equivalent, the 8D series, for Souriau in the UK, as a European franchised distributor for Souriau-Sunbank. We provide a wide range of standard QPL connectors for same-day dispatch, but, as an assembling distributor for aluminium, stainless, composite and bronze variants, customers can also specify a much wider choice of supply from our massive connector piece parts inventory, with delivery on short lead times and the same full QPL Certification at no extra cost.
Manufactured by Souriau, these scoop-proof, high-density connectors have tri-start, self-locking threaded coupling shells and provide high contact density up to 128 contacts across a wide choice of 54 qualified layouts housed in shells of aluminium stainless steel, composite and bronze. This high-reliability connector series will withstand high vibration (44g), high temperature (200°C) and 500 mating/un-mating cycles.
We can supply the connector system with several contact types including signal, power, high power, coax, triax and quadrax as well as Souriau-Sunbank’s Elio fibre optic contacts. Additional connector derivatives such as flanges with clinch nuts or threaded helicoils, double-flange receptacles and resin-sealed and glass-sealed hermetic receptacles add further to this very versatile range, along with filtered receptacles for the most demanding EMC requirements.
The comprehensive product family is in accordance with MIL-DTL-38999 series III, EN3645 and CECC (the standard for bronze shells) and meets established customer standards such as Rolls-Royce, Airbus and Boeing. These connectors are suitable for a number of high-performance applications including military and commercial aircraft and communications systems as well as military fighting vehicles, missiles and shipboard installations.
To complete an 8D Series/38999 solution, we offer a range of accessories, including EMC backshells for spring or band termination and plug protective caps, all manufactured by our sister company Weald Electronics with the same wide choice of material and plating options.
