We can now supply a series of screw coupling, bronze connectors designed for a variety of military / marine applications including radar, antenna and weapons control systems.
Manufactured by Eaton, the Souriau JVS connector range is an extension of the popular 8D connector series and is effectively the equivalent of standard D38999 series III connectors in bronze that are qualified to CECC 75 201.002.
Nickel aluminium bronze provides exceptional resistance to corrosion and does not require any protective plating finish. Most connectors designed for active use in harsh environments will have to perform with inevitable scratches and bumps to the connector shells and the use of bronze means that the Souriau JVS connectors offer all the popular and proven performance characteristics of the D38999 that are perfectly adapted to use in environments of salt-water corrosion and shock.
The connectors feature scoop proof shells with grounding fingers providing shell to shell continuity. The self-locking quick-connect screw coupling mechanism helps remove the risk of un-mating even under high vibration or rough handling in the field. Layouts can be made available with all of the standard MIL-DTL-38999 crimp contact types including signal and power in sizes 22D, 20, 16 ,12, 8 & 4 as well as coaxial, twinax, quadrax and the Elio range of fibre optic terminations. Contact sizes 22D, 20, 16 and 12 are also available in a range of pc tail lengths.
A fully assembled and mated connector will provide IP67 environmental protection where each contact cavity is individually sealed and the materials used provide resistance to hydraulic and fuel oils, mineral and synthetic lubrication oils, as well as cleaning, de-icing, extinguishing and cooling fluids.
