FC Lane Electronics Visit At Souriau's Tangier Plant

As an assembling, value-added distributor for Souriau, we are always looking to ensure our production methods are right up to date and mirror the quality of Souriau’s connector systems. This includes both assembly and test as well as quality control and even final despatch and packaging.

To better understand the production methods employed by Souriau, key members of our production team spent time at the company’s impressive manufacturing facility based at Tangier in Morocco. Pictured are Clive Reid (General Manager of our sister company and connector manufacturer Weald Electronics), Rob Townsend (QA Manager of Weald and FC Lane), Bogdan Budzioch (Design Engineer at Weald Electronics and FC Lane) and Margaret Rice (FC Lane Production Supervisor), along with several members of Souriau’s production team.

The facility employs a host of modern manufacturing techniques and the latest production equipment to ensure high product throughput and consistently high-quality levels. After all, these are connector systems that need to perform in all types of environments, many of them hostile. We learned a lot from our visit and we will be improving the way we do certain things in the coming weeks and months. We have invested heavily in equipment and people at our HQ near Horsham and, with the knowledge gained at Souriau’s Tangier facility, we will ensure that we keep improving what we do.

For the record, we are a Souriau distributor and stock and assemble many Souriau connector systems including those that meet MIL-DTL-38999, the tiny Souriau 8STA range which is very popular across the motorsport sector, the JVS BS/CECC 75201-002 system in marine bronze and the industry leading ELIO high speed fibre connector system.
