Connectors used in the aerospace, military and defence sectors have to meet an array of reliability, performance and quality standards, including circular connectors to MIL-DTL-38999 and high-density rectangular rack and panel connector systems such as Souriau’s ARINC 600 Series, all of which we stock, as well as connectors by manufacturers including Positronic, HUBER+SUHNER, HellermannTyton and Nicomatic.

These are connector systems designed for the very diverse range of applications found across these sectors, uses which place unique demands on electronic equipment OEMs, many of whom manufacture and supply products that are deployed across all three. 

To support these OEMs, connector manufacturers have traditionally partnered with them throughout the design process but then only with a relatively niche selection of products. The result is that many connector manufacturers then struggle with product stockholding, low volumes and longevity of supply which is particularly critical given the length of time equipment in these sectors can be in service. They prefer their distribution network to provide ongoing technical and design support as well as small quantity maintenance, repair and operation (MRO) spares requirements and obsolescence mitigation spanning many years. 

With more than 50 years’ experience in the aerospace, military and defence markets we are a connector and accessory specialist, designing and manufacturing connectors via our sister Lodge Group company Weald Electronics and we are a Value-Add assembling distributor for Souriau-Sunbank. With a  sector-leading connector stockholding, we can make products available to customers for next day delivery with no MOQ. We also provide a dedicated stock holding for call-off orders to suit a customers’ build programmes or production schedules.

This allows us to regularly fulfil each and every function from design, connector manufacture, stockholding and obsolescence support thus bridging the gap between the needs of the customer and the requirements of the connector manufacturer.

Many distributors can meet some of the demands of the equipment OEMs but few can match our ability to provide the total customer support package.
