FC Lane Expand Motorsport Division With New Products From Weald Electronics

FC Lane Electronics are a leading supplier of electrical and electronic connectors and we have recently added a large selection of connector accessories to our motorsport division, manufactured by our sister Lodge Group company Weald Electronics.
Near the end of 2012, FC Lane launched www.lanemotorsport.com and we have since acquired the connector distribution business from bf1systems, which specialises in motorsport connectors. Peter Costin has been appointed as our new Business Development Manager.
The Souriau 8STA compact circular connector
As an established Souriau distributor, the hub of FC Lane’s motorsport division is based around the Souriau 8STA compact circular connector, which is a common but specialist component in the motorsport industry, used across many varied applications.
Peter Costin commented ‘With immediate effect, we have added Weald’s nut plates and gaskets for all shell sizes from 02 to 24. Nut plates and gaskets are used by the motorsport box builders and harness makers to either hold in place the 8STA range of connectors without the chance of very small nuts falling into equipment, or for sealing connectors to carbon/aluminium boxes and so on.”
The Souriau connector family encompasses various connector types, specifically designed for particular applications, including the smallest available circular connector, the Size 02, which has evolved from military specifications JN1003 and MIL-DTL-38999. Its compact and lightweight build ensures it is highly suitable for connecting sensors and similar complicated systems.
The Souriau 8STA includes the lightest and smallest currently available high density circular connector and offers up to 68 size 26 contacts, utilising 24 to 30 AWG wire, which allows for a smaller shell size for the same application.
