FC Lane Electronics’ specialist motorsport division is proud to announce that we are now a HellermannTyton distributor that supplies HellermannTyton protective boots. HellermannTyton is the leading manufacturer of strain-relieving, heat-shrinkable boots and transitions, which offer ultimate protection against the fluids commonly found in the extreme environments of motorsport.
The HellermannTyton boot is available in either straight or right-angled form, in a range of specialist materials which provide environmental and chemical resistance, high electric strength, and mechanical toughness.
Our motorsport division is focused around the leading Souriau 8STA compact circular connector range - a staple of the motorsport industry which is used in many applications including communications equipment and harnesses.
Requirements of Souriau 8STA connectors
As an official distributor of Souriau connectors, almost every 8STA connector that we supply to our customers needs to be fitted with a boot, in order to comply with the IP67 standard. We stock and offer next day delivery on the standard boots, glue-lined versions and those manufactured from Viton, which combat oils and fuels common to motorsports.
The series of Souriau 8STA circular connectors include various connector types, purpose built for specific applications. The Size 02 is the industry’s smallest circular connector and has evolved from the specifications of military JN1003 and MIL-DTL-38999 connectors. It has a very compact and lightweight design and as such is perfectly suited for connecting complex systems, such as those found in connecting sensors.
The 8STA Souriau connector range includes the smallest and lightest available circular connector with high density capability. It offers up to 68 size 26 contacts and uses 24 to 30 AWG wire, so that a smaller shell size can be adopted.
