Now available from Lane Electronics, the Cinch-Fibreco JCON series has been developed to support panel-mounted fibre-optic connectivity in environments where durability, optical performance and ease of maintenance all matter.

Traditionally, connecting an expanded beam connector to a transceiver has often meant specifying a custom cable assembly made to the right length and fitted with the required connector types. That can add design time, increase configuration complexity and make replacements less straightforward in the field.

Why the JCON Junior adapter matters

The JCON Junior Bulkhead Expanded Beam Adapter changes that approach by allowing a standard, off-the-shelf LC/LC patchcord to be used between the adapter and the transceiver. For system designers, this means more flexibility as requirements change. Cable lengths can be adjusted by selecting a different patchcord, rather than redesigning or ordering a bespoke assembly.

JCON connectors are designed for mission-critical fibre-optic connectivity, combining rugged construction with simplified installation and strong optical performance. The series features an M83526-compliant fibre-optic interface and a rear adapter plate for standard commercial connectors, helping engineers use readily available patchcords while retaining the benefits of expanded beam technology. Cinch-Fibreco’s patented expanded beam ferrule-to-lens alignment is designed to support signal integrity and reduce maintenance demands.

The JCON series is available as a bulkhead connector with a D-hole panel cut-out for straightforward panel integration. Standard configurations include a black anodised aluminium connector shell, 2 or 4 optical channels and an LC-duplex end adapter plate. Key features include:
