MIL-DTL-55302 covers connectors (plugs and receptacles) for printed circuit board (PCB) subassemblies and their accessories, for use in high reliability single-sided printed wiring, double-sided printed wiring, and multilayer printed wiring applications. The materials used are also covered by MIL-DTL-55302 including those for the contacts, the plating and the plastic bodies.
Contact termination types relevant to this standard are crimp, dip solder, flex, hand solder, and wire wrap.
Lane Electronics offers the ITW McMurdo 801 series of two-part, two row PCB connectors designed to meet MIL-DTL-55302. We see them used primarily in military and aerospace applications where high resistance to vibration is essential. They are available in 7 male and female contact styles with up to 96 contacts.
