PURCHASING/PRODUCTION ASSISTANT

To assist the Operations Manager with Procurement, Stock Control, Stores and Order Processing in line with Company objectives.


DUTIES:

  • To assist internal Managers with the day-to-day running of all internal business processes that are associated with Purchasing, Stock Control, Sales, Sales Order Processing, Assembly, Stores and Despatch.

  • As requested by internal Managers, liaise with external suppliers or internal Production and assist with raising Purchase Orders or Works Orders as required for stock or direct sale as dictated by the ERP system.

  • Additional responsibilities may include tasks associated with general IT, software, IT infrastructure, database maintenance and the Company’s websites/ecommerce function.

SKILLS, KNOWLEDGE AND BEHAVIOURS:

  • A keen attitude, attention to detail and willingness/capability to learn.

  • Alternatively, a proven track record with:

  • Administrative experience in a medium sized distribution or manufacturing business. 

  • Some appreciation of purchasing, stock control and the principles of ERP software. (ideally gained from a manufacturing, assembly or distribution environment).

  • A basic understanding of manufacturing processes to aid placing subcontract, purchase and works orders logically and efficiently.

  • General business software knowledge, in particular, MS Excel.

  • Commercial awareness.

  • Flexible and positive ‘can-do’ attitude.

Own transport will be required as public transport services are limited to our business location.
38¼ hours per week – 8.30 am to 5.15 pm Monday to Thursday and 8.30 am to 3.30 pm Fridays with 45 minutes for lunch each day.
