ASSEMBLY OPERATOR (WEALD PRODUCTION)

DUTIES:

To assemble electrical connectors and accessories in accordance with Company work instructions, to include some or all of the following activities:

  • Washing/cleaning of piece parts

  • Printing

  • Preparation/application of adhesives

  • Operation of assembly equipment

  • Packaging/labelling

  • Soldering and wire preparation (cutting/striping).

To ensure your work area kept clean and tidy at all times.

To undertake any other aspect of assembly or production work, within known capability, as requested by the Production Supervisor.

SKILLS, KNOWLEDGE AND BEHAVIOURS:

  • Attention to detail and high level of accuracy essential.

  • Previous experience of assembly work within an engineering/small batch assembly environment preferred.

  • Experience in wire preparation and soldering preferred.

  • Must be manually dextrous in order to assemble very small parts.

  • Must be reliable and a good timekeeper.

  • Good standard of general education, ideally to GCSE level.

  • Good written and oral communication skills.

  • Adaptable and flexible with a positive ‘can-do’ attitude.

  • To strive at all times to raise the quality standards of the Company’s products.

Own transport will be required as public transport services are limited to our business location.

Competitive rates of pay.

Full-time hours of work are 39½ hours per week – 8.30 am to 5.15 pm Monday to Thursday and 8.30 am to 3.30 pm Fridays with 30 minutes for lunch each day although part-time hours will also be considered.
