FC Lane’s High Power 38999 Connectors Suitable For Hybrid And EV Applications

As an official Souriau distributor, we have recently made available Souriau’s high power 38999 Series III circular connectors, which are being utilised in a wide range of electric vehicle (EV) and hybrid automotive applications. These are coupling autosport connectors which are shielded and threaded, and feature single power contacts capable of handling up to 850A. They are specifically designed to endure the harsh environment found in automotive applications.
The Souriau connectors feature low contact resistance, high contact endurance and no micro disconnect when vibrated. They comply with IP67 when mated, so are protected against all common automotive fluids and operate between -65°C and 175°C.
There are three aluminium shell sizes that are available, all at 40°C:
Size 19 (up to 450A)
Size 23 (up to 650A)
Size 25 (up to 850A)
They are available in two finishes: cadmium olive drab and black zinc nickel and it is possible to crimp cables from 50mm² to 185mm². Due to a removable backshell/shrink boot combination, assembly and installation is simple and safety is ensured, as the motorsport connectors have a recessed engagement point which stops arcing during mating and unmating, as well as a plastic-capped pin contact which prevents the risk of electric shock.
